Crobdan wanted me to watch more Japanese-people-in-rubber-suits shows for babies, so I went for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. It has the same director as Kamen Rider Fourze and while the characters aren’t as nice because Kazuki Nakashima isn’t writing them, it doesn’t matter that much because it’s more action-driven. And the action is silly and fun and very anime-esque. Also noteworthy are the suits of the villains which are really well designed and put together and resulted in a lot of fan art.

I guess you meant ‘Don´t you hate these stupid anime parody from cartoons?’ but yes. it’s almost always completely uncreative, uninspired and above all else simply not an accurate, funny parody. The Family Guy thing didn’t even pretend that it tried to actually make fun of anime by understanding its cliches. I mean “HONORABLE SUPER FUN” jesus christ
it’s basically become a parody of a parody of a parody of a parody at this point, no real cleverness or accuracy anymore.
I really like how, despite being a show that bases itself around cartoony exaggeration to such a huge extent in its action scenes, character acting and plot developments, Gurren Lagann’s serious drama moments could be pretty understated. Both of the really major deaths were executed extremely well in a way that wasn’t at all overdone.
I like how to get it just right they made Yoshinari animate the final frame with the “crying” Gurren-Lagann.
I love how you always have an awesome bit of trivia for everything ◡‿◡
