"Because animation isn’t about being fluid. What’s more important is that animation makes something move and has power to it, regardless of how few frames it is, fifty or five. In today’s industry, what will really make the difference onscreen is posing. It doesn’t cost anymore money to draw a character propping himself lazily against the wall slouched than it does to have a character sat straight up his body and legs forming a static 90 degree angle, combined with a bad layout choice that makes the scene even more static. Of course more frames costs more money, but better posing? Never ever. And the fact of the matter is that pretty much every show on TV right now has this issue, this issue of characters looking like they were impaled on a giant spike that makes them perfectly straight. The attached is an example of what I mean by posing. The drawings are mine.”
Regular Show is fun but this is spot on. and the anon’s fixed versions actually are legitimately better.
